Degree Requirements

​General Degree Requirements

To qualify for a Bachelor of Information, you must:

Obtain standing (i.e., complete with a grade of 50% or higher/P/CR) in at least 11.0 credits that meet the following criteria: 
5.0 credits in required lecture-based courses
3.0 credits in required studio-based courses
2.0 credits in electives
1.0 credits in work integrated learning practicum

Obtain a Cumulative GPA of 1.85 or more by the time of graduation. Students who meet all the requirements for the High Distinction Bachelor of Information except for the GPA requirement may elect to graduate with a Bachelor of Information degree provided they are In Good Standing (i.e., CGPA is 1.50 or more).

Graduation
All eligible students will be sent information from the Office of the Registrar Student Services regarding their graduation eligibility. For students graduating in June, only courses completed by the end of the preceding winter term (ending in April) will be assessed for graduation.  

​Prospective graduands should receive an email from the Office of Convocation providing details of the convocation ceremony in late March (for June graduation).  

Students who are interested in working and staying in Canada after graduation must apply for the post-graduation work permit within 90 days from the date, they complete their degree requirements.
